US Navy Ceremonial Guard Silent Drill Team
May 19th, 2010US Navy Ceremonial Guard Silent Drill Team was invited to compete in an International Tattoo in Norway. The Navy competed against military units from all over NATO and won first place. Their performance was incredible and we thought you might like it~~
The CBC tips its hat to Jazz History at Pat’s Pub and Brewhouse
January 15th, 2010Although currently known as Pat's Pub and Brewhouse, the pub was originally known as The Patricia Café. Established in 1914 The Patricia Café was one of Vancouver's jazz hotspots at the time hosting many of the genre’s influential musicians. Most notable is Ferdinand "Jelly Roll" Morton who at the age of 28 made Vancouver his home during August 1919 thru to January 1921. During his time in Vancouver "Jelly Roll" Morton performed in the Patricia Café as well as roomed in the Patricia Hotel.
CBC Radio will be broadcasting from Pat’s Pub and Brewhouse Friday January 15, 2010, discussing Jelly Roll Morton and Jazz music in general as well as the past, present and future of Strathcona. Following the broadcast, there will be a fabulous show put on by a three piece band, complete with baby grand piano played by the New Orleans Legend, Henry Butler! (http://www.henrybutler.com) Doors open at 7:30pm, show starts at 8:00pm. No tickets and no cover charge so come down and check out the show!
Patricia Hotel brings Christmas to the community

Every year, the staff here at the Patricia Hotel decorates the lobby in celebration of the upcoming Christmas holiday. The hotel and it's festive decorations were recently featured by Mike McCardell on Global News--one of Vancouver's local News programs.
